The NEW SPRINT ADVENTURE RACING TRAINING PROGRAM Just Launched!

Are you ready to truly invest in yourself and smash your training goals for 2022?

Whether you’re training for your first adventure race or you want to add structure and performance upgrades to your training that will yield improvement, this is the course for you! Adventure racing is a multidisciplinary event and the ultimate way to challenge yourself both physically and mentally. This 5-month program will take you through the daily ins and outs of best training practices to prepare you for a 4-8-hour sprint adventure race.

Adventure racing is unique

It’s not like any other sport out there. Racers need to have the fitness capacity and skills required to mountain bike, run, trek and paddle from four to upwards of eight hours non-stop, all while navigating changing terrain, moving with agility and control while wearing a pack, and being ready for ANYTHING the course throws at them.

From hills and flats, to wind, rain and sun, muddy hillsides to river crossings, and boat portages to bushwacking, adventure racers need to be able to push through fatigue, body aches and nature’s elements and root in to the confidence that their body and mind will get them through the event. Training smart, applying progressive training principles, and developing skills in all aspects of the sport is what will make an athlete successful!

Adventure racing takes tremendous fortitude and determination. You’ll undoubtedly be tested many times along the way, and this course will help to improve your endurance and strengthen your resolve so that the adventure won’t be overshadowed by the challenges.

What’s included in the program:

  • Weekly training schedules for running, biking and paddling that cover pacing, effort, and the best terrain to utilize in order to reach your goals

  • A comprehensive strength, movement and mobility routine to develop mental and physical resilience and support longevity in your training

  • Resources and tools to establish progressive training and keep you accountable

  • A vast exercise video library to ensure proper technique

  • Stress management and self care strategies to keep you balanced and grounded

  • Holistic health and nutrition advice to fuel your body for endurance

Ready to level up your racing game? This course is best for athletes who have 1-3 years of experience in adventure racing and are aiming to improve performance. It is not suitable for a beginner athlete or someone coming off the couch.

Athletes starting this course should already be comfortable with aerobic based exercise 4-5 days of the week, with multiple months under their belt of being able to run/hike on their feet for one hour continuously, and cycle for 75 minutes.

This course begins with:

Features of this program:

  • Improving your aerobic work capacity will be at the center of your training focus.

  • It is recommended (although not mandatory) that you use a heart rate monitor in order to ensure the correct intensity prescriptions for each workout.

  • Workouts that improve strength, power, and speed will also be incorporated.

  • Weeks build upon one another, so in order to get the most benefit from this course it is recommended that you adhere to the workouts and the planned progression, and that you don’t do additional random training and workouts on a regular basis.

  • Rest weeks with added flexibility are included to incorporate “extra fun and freedom”.

What’S COVERED IN THE SPRINT ADVENTURE RACING TRAINING PROGRAM?

This course will have you well prepared with your fitness level to take on a short sprint adventure race in the realm of 4-8 hours.

My goal with this program is to have you excited and confident when you stand on that start line. All athletes should be healthy, injury-free and cleared for physical exertion and exercise from their doctor, prior to beginning this program.
